Oke, so I try a lot of methods to make me draw more and finally I think I found one who work… I make a convention with my son: I give him money for every day without drawing/painting  and because I don’t want to make him rich from this early age it seems working… of course in first day I give him money, what can I say !

My first watercolour on the last pencil drawing, one hour, used 4 colours: 2 blues, one yellow and red from my kid school Panda set and also a cheap paper. Just learning.

I am happy because when compare the photo with the drawing by overlapping on Photoshop I eyeballed perfect the face landmarks. Almost look like I trace that photo.

Warning, some digital kitsch down there

Yeap 1 hour of fun, no reference at all just from my sick mind, let’s say its a girl born 1 hour ago who now salute the world.

I was not happy with the overall proportions of the knight and his position so I try to correct that and give a little space between those 2 parts of composition. I think its 100% dimension if click on picture… if the blog accept 3000 x 4000 pixels jpg upload…

A: Yes ! I can draw anything. The problem if is a successful one or not… The drawing skills for animals is somehow near the giraffe posted in earlier.

BAD: For those who don’t know there is about 10% chances to see for 2-3 seconds some genitals ( the time till you report them or they run quick so you don’t have time to report them or else about 10 minutes theirs video camera is banned).
NICE : You get the equivalent of posemaniacs but with faces, often 2-3 minutes of ‘life’ drawing if they agree (I show them a paper where i write "I DRAW YOU 2-3 MINUTES !!")
There are some challenges tough, various light conditions, they move, etc.,
If you think 3 minutes is to long, think again, on those 2-3 minutes half of the time is of course spend on study theirs faces so you must find quick the landmarks of the faces so if they are bored quicker at least you have something to show them.
I spend 2-3 minutes in the drawings, effective drawing the lines maybe under one minute per face below, so its some very fast exercises

A 2 layer technique applied on traditional medium, a transparent vellum sheet, one face its a graphite pencil the other face its soft pastel and its scanned with graphite close to the scanner to make the pastels more blurred:
